... Learn moreThe Aircast Pneumatic Armband applies targeted pressure just below the involved area, in an effort to alleviate strain where the tendons of the forearm muscles insert at the elbow.
At the same time, the plush foam and air-filled pressure pad makes the Aircast more comfortable than competitors' braces. The comfortable application of pressure helps relax tight forearm muscles in addition to relieving tension on tendon insertions into the lateral or medial epicondyle. This is true no matter which muscle group of the forearm is involved.
The pressure pad may be placed over the extensors, flexors or pronators of the forearm. This placement should be just distal to the insertion of the tendons(or in simple terms, slightly below the elbow).
"Tennis Elbow" is not exclusive to tennis players. It also commonly results from repetitive actions like typing or computer data entry. So even sedentary folks often develop so-called "tennis elbow". The medical term for these cases is "lateral epicondylitis".
